loving summer food

I forgot just how wonderful everything tastes right now. I can’t get enough good food in me. On the weekend mornings, John heads out to the garden to gather some potatoes and rosemary for our eggs and potatoes (if only he could gather some fresh eggs out there too! but we have some eggs from a friend – next best thing). Ruby likes to help and sometimes they’ll even come back in with some flowers.

We hit the market this weekend to get some amazing tomatoes, sugar snap peas, blueberries, and strawberries. We made bruschetta last night and snacked on the rest of it all day.

Our csa ruled too:

Pink Fingerling Potatoes
2 Cucumber
Summer Squash – a long striped squash called Cocozelle, and another variety, a light green Italian round squash called Magda.
Walla Walla Onion

This is a really nice time of year to live in Oregon.
