I’ve had a lot of requests for a lemongrass soap and I’ve got a beautiful one up in the shop. This lemongrass rosemary bar has a fresh scent that is perfect for spring. The woodiness of the rosemary balances the lemony-ness to create a gender neutral soap.
Rosemary is one of my favorite plants – John gave a plant to me on our first date and we incorporated it throughout our wedding. I hope you enjoy this new soap as well! You can use coupon code TRYME to get 15 % off this soap through April 6th.
I’m giving away a free bar of soap over on my facebook page. You’ll have to scroll down a little bit to find it, but you can win a bar of the Winter Woods soap.
It’s been a long week here at our house, I’m looking forward to the weekend. I’m taking Ruby to dance class and a birthday party but also getting a much-needed massage. I think I’m going to make a date with myself for a glass of wine and a long bath with these:
What are your plans for the weekend?
I recently received a custom order for a log of sandalwood soap. I was able to make a few extra bars and some small sample sizes. I looooove the scent! It’s a blend of soft, woody, balsamic oils that blended really well together. I’ll be shipping the log (30+ bars!) to the person who ordered it soon and hope he enjoys it as much as I do.
Sandalwood that is traditionally used is from India and is threatened. I found a source for Australian sandalwood that is sustainably harvested and organic. The earthy scent is just perfect.
These bars are organic as always and available in very limited quantities.
I love custom orders – and people get quite a deal when they purchase a whole log. Feel free to contact me to discuss ideas.
It’s hard to believe but Valentine’s Day is on its way. It seems to arrive at just the right time to get us through the January blahs. We can busy ourselves on these cold gray days making valentines and reflecting on all the love in our lives.
May I suggest a few items to pamper those you love?
Spicy Bath Fizzies are a very popular and have an irresistible scent.
This lavender filled heart pillow is a sweet gift for a child to snuggle. Just tuck in a little love note for a comforting present.
I love this Bath Tea. My skin is so soft after using it and the herbs are so calming. Especially when you drink a glass of wine while you soak. 😉
Of course, you can’t love anyone else unless you take care of yourself. Give yourself a little luxury this season as well.
As the shopping season winds down, I’ve been analyzing the numbers for the shop and am so proud to share that this past year has been my most successful yet. I have sold more this year than in the past three years combined! I am amazed and humbled by this. I love the process of making new scents and products and am learning so much about growing a small business along the way.
At my last craft show and for the month of December, I shared that for every bar of soap sold, I would donate soap to our local shelter. So far, that has been 39 bars of soap sold! I will definitely be continuing this into the new year. It is one small way we can contribute and take care of our community.
Thank you all for your support. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Have a happy holiday season with your friends and family. See you in the new year!
I love, love, love this time of year and even more so with little kids around! I think I’m just so excited to live somewhere with actual seasons, that I am thrilled from the first chilly evenings in early fall to right around after New Year’s. (Then I start to wish there were more holidays to distract us from all the rain.)
We had a little Halloween party and I made a spice cake with cream cheese icing. But we had leftover cream cheese, so of course I needed to make some more cream cheese icing. I mean, what else was I supposed to do with that? John just gave me this book for my birthday, so I tried out my first recipe from it: Banana Walnut Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. They were almost healthy enough with the bananas and walnuts for me to pretend that they weren’t cupcakes. We shared them with the family that handed down Ruby’s Halloween costume and our neighbor that brought over a bag full of play-doh
right when the girls and I were going insane with cabin fever/sugar crashing at the perfect moment.
I tried to pipe the icing on the cupcakes but apparently I put the tip on wrong. The pressure from the frosting pushed the top off and icing exploded all over me and the kitchen. Oops.
I’ve been busy creating new products for my shop and selling them at shows. The new Winter Woods soap is a favorite and I’m so happy to have heart pillows in the shop too.
P.S. There’s still time to get in on the $500 Chronicle Books giveaway!
I’ve been invited by Satsuma Press, West Elm, and Etsy to participate in their pop-up shop on Saturday, May 21st in Portland! I am beside myself excited and honored to be a part of such a wonderful group of artists and crafters.
I would love to see some friendly faces there. If you’re local, please come by and say hi! There is a website to rsvp – just so they know how many people to plan catering for. It sounds super fun – food, drinks, a photo booth, music, and of course, shopping.
You can see a list of the other 15 handmade vendors that will be there on Satsuma Press’ blog. Back to work for me – we’re making a new scent of bar soap (fresh) and trying some whipped shea body butters today.
